Job Summary
Client s Data Policy and Governance Team (DP&G) creates and implements foundational data management and governance policies, standards and processes.

The Senior Data Architect, Clients Data Catalog, is responsible for the successful integration and management of the VDC as a continuation of the progress made from the Enterprise Data Catalog project that was initiated in September 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in April 2024.
This individual must be able to effectively manage partners in Technology, Product, and Policy to continually build on recent VDC workflows and manage ongoing maintenance and iterations of the tool.
The individual will be regarded as a trusted business partner leveraging curiosity and expertise to drive VDC maturity and will work closely with the Sr. Director, Data Governance and Lifecycle Management and the Director, Data Lifecycle Capabilities to develop the strategic vision of the VDC to meet the growing needs of the enterprise.
Candidate will be responsible for championing the effort in driving and maturing a robust Metadata Management capability for the Data Catalog (VDC), including:
Develop and lead VDC team workshops, planning sessions, and postmortems
Source and work with data SMEs to provide business terms for identified fields in the VDC
Migrate business term glossary from Excel to the VDC
Map business terms to physical fields in VDC
Coordinate metadata tagging of business terms to VDC with VDC team and/or partnered teams
Evolve Gen AI model development to automatically generate business terms for undefined fields
Streamline API mapping process
Create milestones and drive VDC integration into various third-party systems (e.g. Denodo) and data applications
Draft operating manual procedures to guide internal VDC team
Draft desktop procedures for data community
Map sensitive PI to the catalog in partnership with Data Privacy team
Manage Jira Align and Jira Project Management workflows and strategic planning
Forward planning of requirements and workflows for upcoming quarters
Provide data community updates
Provide trainings to Data Stewards and data user community
Support Data Criticality Model build and integration to support risk ratings of key data assets
Support data governance efforts through the VDC and its partners
Ongoing management of VDC content tracking, workflow oversight and reporting
Ongoing product management for all items above
Candidate will be responsible for driving s VDC maturity within the Product and Technology Business Units through:
" Define and document the VDC project charter, scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
" Develop and maintain the VDC project plan, schedule, and resource allocation.
" Coordinate and communicate with the Data Governance Sr. Director, Data Lifecycle Director, the Data Catalog Team, and other stakeholders on the project status, issues, risks, and changes.
" Facilitate and lead VDC project meetings, workshops, reviews, and presentations.
" Manage the project quality, scope, and change control processes.
" Identify and resolve any project issues, conflicts, or challenges.
" Monitor and report on the project performance, progress, and outcomes.
" Deliver the project deliverables and documentation to the Data Lifecycle Director and other stakeholders.
" Conduct the project closure and lessons learned activities on a quarterly basis.
" Collaboration across cross-functional groups
The successful candidate must have:
" 7 + years relevant work experience
" 3+ years of metadata management experience in a data cataloging context, with a particular focus in the data, technology and/or operations space highly preferred and experience in designing and developing taxonomies, data classifications, governance of catalog controls (flagging, correction, and workflow)
" Bachelor s Degree (Data Science, Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Economics, Business, Computer Science Field preferred)
" Demonstrated experienced with DataHub or a similar data cataloging tool
" Knowledge of Industry frameworks and Best Practices (e.g., DCAM (Data Capability Assessment Model), CDMC)
" Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence (BI), data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, metadata management, data standards, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture frameworks
" Experience working to uplift and mature data cataloging capabilities, business term definition building and mapping, and quality controls and frameworks as efforts scale
" Business acumen and understanding of the evolving regulatory environment
" Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types; influences and collaborates with all levels, functions and geographies
" Knowledge and understanding of risk management practice (e.g., experience in identifying, assessing, treating, and monitoring risks)
" Self-starter, works independently and thrives on driving execution and delivering results
